Latar Belakang Pertubuhan
Approximately In 1980-1999, on the normal day time during a group of indian lorry drivers residents of Kinrara was resting nearest to an tree was saw a king cobra (Nallanagam), seated on a particular Vannimaram in the red sand road which is located behind the SJK Tamil Kinrara. Inspired by this divine
vision, on the auspicious day of Pournami, the nearest hindu devotees went to the Vannimaram and constructed a very simple altar at the base of the tree. Significantly, the tree had Two branches symbolizing its link
to Nagamma, also known as Om
Sri Sakthi Nageswary Ambigai. On his makeshift altar, devotees started to place an clay lamp and started worshiping the tree as Nagamma. From that day forth, they began daily prayers at this symbolic site. Over a very short period of time, what began as a devotees group act of devotion grew into something far more significant. Word of the simple altar and the fact that daily evening prayers were being conducted there spread amongst the Hindu workers in the Royal Malaysian Air Force Kinrara/Golf/Truck Contractors/Bandar Kinrara. Not surprisingly, they soon
flocked to the temple. These were the humble pioneers of the Holy Athimula
Sri Sakthi Nageswary Amman Alayam.
In 2000-2007 an effort to provide for the needs of the growing number of devotees, an interim committee was formed and the temple was registered under the Malaysia Hindu Sagam Malaysia. Interestingly, even the one of the Kinrara Mas Punjabi Family also involved in our pioneering efforts. After an discussion was made by the
devotees, they planned to clean the site to be officially designated as a place of worship. A small shed was
built around the Vanimaram, and it became known as the Nagamma Maram (Stala Vriksham-Holy Tree) of Sri Sakthi Nageswary Amman Alayam. In essence, our pioneers comprised of a small group of very dedicated devotees whose singular drive and back-breaking efforts contributed to the growth of the temple and the
temple celebrated its first Kumbabishegam (consecration) in 2001. The Chitra Pournami (name of a month and a star) festival was first celebrated in the temple in (2001-2007).
Section 3- 2008-2009
In 2008 meanwhile devotees Plans to drawn up for the 2nd Kumbabishegam, the HR UTAMA DEVELOPMENT were interrupted in the picture and advised the temple committee to relocate the temple shed (Mulavar Sanithi) for the purpose of constructing an two way roads for the use of Kinrara Mas Resident. After an discussion in-between temple committee and development with the grace of
‘Nagamma’ the HR UTAMA developer was agreed to construct the two way road without distracting or effecting the Holy-Tree VanniMaram and Snake
pit ‘NAGAMMA’. The construction of
the new temple was completed at an
estimated cost of about (RM 85,540.00) and With the blessings of Sri Sakti Nageswary Amman, the 2nd Kumbabishegam was held in
28/6/2009 and was conducted by the
renowned Siva Sri Murali Sivacharyar chief preist of Mahamariamman devastanam Midland Shah Alam. He was assisted by Siva sri Pandian ‘Gurukal’ and other eminent Gurukals’ from various state of Malaysia and Tamilnadu, India. The temple c onstructed few new sanctums. They are the Karpaga Ganapathi, Bala
Thandayutabani, vasantha mandapam,Arasamara Ganapaty and dwajastambam sanctums. These sanctums were set up to cater to the spiritual needs of the Hindus in the region.
Section 4- 2017-2023
In 2017, the temple was officially registered under Jabatan Pendaftaran Pertubuhan Malaysia and an group of devotees has been assigned as an official organisation committee. The elected Management Committee was tasked with the project of building the temple. With the enthusiastic support of the members and devotees
contributing building materials and needs of the project. The Malaysia Hindu Sangam continued to support and building Thirupani project was initiated. This marked the beginning of a younger generation of members leading the temple in its next phase of development. The bulk of the organization and administration began to be undertaken by these dedicated young devotees. The temple began to expand its scope to the socio-cultural needs of the community. Religious classes, Bhajan sessions and other cultural activities blossomed under the young vibrant committee, Over time, due to the inevitable pressures of wear and tear, the temple building began to face many infrastructural problems. Though maintenance work was beingcarried out regularly, there was a need to address serious underlying problems related to electricity and drainage issues. In addition, over the years, the number of people who participated in the Chitra Pournami, Naga Chathurthi/Panajami and
Navarathri festival increased exponentially. Naga Chaturthi is a signature event in our temple and the committee needed to look into ensuring that its infrastructure was
improved and even customised to meet the demands of the
festival. The decision to build an entirely new temple was decided
upon. Restructuring and renovating the temple. Eminent religious adviser Mr.Kartik Sirpa Sastri were consulted and they indicated that the existing edifice had to be re-aligned as
the Shastras (Hindu sacred scriptures) indicated that the temple had certain inherent architectural defects. With the support and guidance of Former President of Malaysia Hindu Sangam Datuk R.S. Mohan Shan, In 26TH July 2021 the Balasthapanam ceremony was conducted and the deities were shifted from the old sanidi to the temporary site. The Balasthapanam
ceremony is a special prayer conducted before the demolition of the old sanidhi.
In August 2021 the demolition works began. In March 2022 the Bhoomi Pooja followed by the Adikal Nathu Pooja was conducted. These prayers commemorate the laying of the bricks to begin the building process. The vast architectural experience of ‘stapathis’ (temple architects and builders) Karthi Stabathi from Tamil Nadu was engaged and the temple was renovated. With the blessings of Sri Sakti Nageswary Amman, the 3rd Kumbabishegam was held in March 2023 and was conducted by the renowned Siva Sri Om Sivam Sivacharyar Bhuvaneswary Peedam. He was assisted by Siva sri Pandian ‘Gurukal’ and other eminent Gurukals’
from various states of Malaysia.
